Beautifull Autumn Wedding Dromquina Manor, kerry, Ireland – Claire & Joe – MrsRedhead Photography & Nigel Ivy

Our wedding day was very relaxed day and we had a great party!

We met in a pub in Dublin through mutual friends. Instead of asking for my number Joe looked me up on Facebook the next day and sent me a message asking me to go on a date. I didn’t see the message for 3 weeks though this time frame gets embellished slightly every time he tells the story! Anyway I eventually replied!

Proposal? Joe says it went well apart from the fact that it took me about 5 minutes to actually give him an answer!! I was totally shocked so I almost forgot to say Yes! We were on our way to the Dingle food festival where we were meeting Joe’s sisters and I thought we were stopping at the Conor Pass just to see the view as it was a lovely day. It was such a nice surprise.

The ceremony itself-a church ceremony with Joe’s uncle saying the mass was very important to us. Apart from that our main focus was on good food, lots of wine and a good band!

We went to see Dromquinna on a gorgeous sunny Autumn day and it looked so impressive with the view over the water. Their main priority there is creating a great party and you have the house all to yourself so it’s like a big house party. It definitely lived up to this impression on the day!

I carried a horseshoe on the day that my mum carried up the aisle 46 years ago. Joe’s uncle was celebrant at our wedding Mass. My brother and Joe’s sister both played music at the signing of the register. We had photos of Joe’s mum around the venue as she sadly passed away a few months before the wedding.

We discovered Olga’s – MrsRedhead Photography – website while doing some wedding research online and immediately loved her style of photography as it’s so relaxed but yet she manages to capture so many lovely details.

When we met her in person on our wedding day the thing that stood out the most is her enthusiasm – she absolutely adores her job and it really shows. We didn’t want too many posed photos as we didn’t want to spend too much time away from the reception and mainly wanted shots of our family and friends having a great time, which was absolutely no problem to Olga. She understood exactly what we were looking for and so many guests commented on how nice she was! We had a great laugh with her too, particularly when she climbed up a huge embankment on the Ring of Kerry to get the best shots of us, taking photos when there was a gap in the traffic going past!!

Herself and Nigel (the videographer) had never met before but they were such a great team and really added so much to the day and we’re so thrilled with the results!!
