Mel proposed to Stef 3 days before their big day! – surprise Viva Las Vegas wedding by MrsRedhead

How to pull off a surprise wedding for the groom? Have a look and enjoy every minute of it…

OMG How Much I Love My Job!!!

Do what makes you happy and choose the things you really like. Don’t let anyone else tell you what your wedding should be like..

It’s your day, not anyone else’s !!!

I feel ” Absolutely Fabulous ” that i could be a part of it. I don’t even know how to thank you guys.

MrsRedhead Photography Ireland ( be aware – I only had one camera as customs keep the rest behind the desk … )

Stef Skajarowski – Green Room Lahinch surf shop owner, from Cornwall (UK) Melanie Stone, personal assistant, from Reading (UK)

Where do you both live now:

Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare, Ireland

How did you go about planning your dream day?

Stef: I didn’t!!!!

Melanie: I started planning, or should I say scheming/plotting about 11 months prior to the big day. I knew Stef had no intention of ever marrying me, as far as he was concerned we were committed to each other: two children, mortgage etc… but I wanted more! I wanted a party! So I decided to take matters into my own hands and book up Vegas for our 10 year anniversary and finally get hitched!

Stef: I got back from surfing late. Mel had kept the kids up and when I walked in they all shouted SURPRISE! There was ‘will you marry me?’ bunting which Melanie had made hanging up behind them. She handed me a card asking if I would marry her in Vegas on our 10 year anniversary literally 3 days later

Were there any near disasters/funny incidents?

Stef: Whereas Melanie had nearly a year to sort her outfit, I had just the morning of the wedding to sort mine! I was running around the shopping malls on The Strip right up till the last minute, while the majority of my ‘groomsmen’ were drinking by the hotel pool!!!

What was the highlight of your day?

Stef: I don’t know, it’s hard to pick…I guess just being in Vegas surrounded by a dozen close friends and family.

Melanie: All of it. I loved every minute! From breakfast in bed with my husband to be, to getting ready with the girls at the Spa, to strutting around in our Spanx in the hotel room! The limo drive with my super gorgeous bride tribe to what only can be described as the quickest and funniest chapel service EVER…marrying my ‘Stefawn’…. To Rollin Smoke BBQ – laughing, eating and the wonderful speeches, to partying in our hotel room before hitting the casinos and bright lights of Vegas! And of course having fun with Olga while she worked her magic behind the camera capturing every single moment.

Any other details you feel are relevant?

We just want to say the biggest and most heartfelt thank you to everyone who came. It meant the world to us to have you there. Here’s to Vegas 2019!!!!

Our Family

• Photographer: MrsRedhead Photography (best photographer in the world!)

To put it simply, Olga’s photographs are amazing! As an incredibly creative and talented photographer, her photos are beautifully artistic, whilst capturing each special moment perfectly and naturally.

As people who don’t particularly enjoy being in front of the camera, Olga made us feel very much at ease – we couldn’t stop laughing and smiling. Due to the way we got married it was very important for us to document the wedding for family and friends who weren’t there. Olga has done just that and more, her photos have surpassed all expectations we had.

Thank you so very much Olga for being you. You are a pleasure to work with, combining professionalism with your wonderfully fun personality. The photos you have taken bring us and others a huge amount of joy. We regularly flick through them reminiscing on what was such a truly special and fun time with a beautiful bunch of people in the most crazy and surreal of places!

Do you have any special memory of how you met/the first date?

For our first date Stef drove me around Cornwall taking in all the romantic sights including visiting the Minack Theatre and Porthcurno beach.

When did you get engaged? and how was the question popped?

Melanie: We got engaged at home. I popped the question with our two children Molly Mae (5) and Asher (2), having sewn ‘will you marry me?’ bunting. The kids were very excited!

Where did the groom/s get his suit?

Vegas shopping mall last minute!

Who were the bridesmaids and groomsmen?

All the female guests were bridesmaids: Amy, Aoife, Emily, Immi, Megan & Olga and all the male guests were the groomsmen: Piran, Dan, Joe, Daniel, Jo and Brandon

What kind of ceremony did you have and who took part in it?

Cheesy Vegas chapel service! Short and sweet!

Did the wedding have a theme or idea you wanted to follow?

To be as fun and relaxed as possible.

What made you choose the venue?

Not sure….my head was spinning with all the choice in Vegas so I just impulsively chose it in the end to get the chapel ticked off the list!

Did you make anything yourselves for the day?

No. But I did sew my ‘will you marry me?’ bunting.

What was the best moment of the day for you?

All of it!

Did you go on honeymoon, and if so where to and for how long?

No. We didn’t win enough at the casinos!!! 😉
